My Favorite Thing about Spring
Can you guess my favorite part of spring from this photo? I think many of you will relate: the trees blooming.
Green is my favorite color—not because I wear it often (I prefer black) or because I decorate exclusively with it (I love neutrals)—but because spring fills everything with fresh green life. Budding trees, greener lawns, and that sense of renewal make me happiest this time of year.
Just look at the pear tree outside my front window. I love opening a window, driving around in my army-green car, and taking in all those new buds. That love of outdoor greenery inspired me to bring similar natural tones and textures into my dining room for spring.
Today I’ll take you through how I decorated our dining room with greenery and natural accents to create a simple, fresh spring look.
How to Style a Spring Tablescape
Last year I used long white floral stems in bottle-neck jars, but this year the table centerpiece focuses on greenery. A run of five small faux plants in affordable gold buckets placed down the center creates a clean, symmetrical look.
Adding two neutral wood risers beneath two of the planters introduces height variation and visual interest without complicating the arrangement. Small glass votive candles nestled among the plants and a few wood bead garlands finish the centerpiece with a soft, layered feel.

Simple elements—greenery, wood, a touch of gold, and candlelight—are all you need to create a spring tablescape that feels fresh, light, and inviting.
Decorating the Buffet for Spring
This buffet originally lived in our old entryway; now it’s a useful storage and styling surface in the dining room. The drawers hold candles and decor supplies, while baskets below usually contain photo albums (which I tucked away for photos since their covers weren’t pretty).
A large mirror casually leaned above the buffet reflects light from the windows and opens up the room. A tall fiddle leaf fig adds height and a botanical feel; its scale works nicely next to the buffet.
I anchored the buffet display with a long wood tray filled with a mix of candles. Brass candlesticks introduce gold tones that echo the gold buckets on the table, while inexpensive glass votives add soft sparkle and drama when lit. The candlelight reflecting in the mirror creates a cozy, layered glow.
A small faux ivy at one end of the tray completes the vignette and ties the buffet styling back to the tabletop greenery.
Styling the China Cabinet for Spring
Our china cabinet houses a collection of white stoneware. To inject spring freshness, I added a real snake plant in a galvanized planter propped on an antique wood stool—an easy year-round accent.
Between the white dishes I placed small faux plants and moss spheres. The varying greens and textures bring depth and a subtle spring vibe without overwhelming the neutral cabinetry.

On the opposite side of the dining room a small side table stores table linens and fits perfectly in the narrow wall next to the window. I hung a simple word-art sign above it that I found on clearance a few years back.
I reused one of the bottle-neck jars with delicate white floral stems from last year’s tablescape on this side table. The stems echo the pear tree blooms outside the window. A small faux plant in a wooden lantern adds texture and rounds out the vignette.
