PaleOMG Style: Modern Outfit Ideas and Fashion Trends

Fall is in full swing here in Colorado, and I am loving it. Temperatures stayed in the 70s or lower all week, which meant I didn’t have to live in full-length pants. I could wear short dresses with booties, and it felt perfectly acceptable. I wish fall could last all year. I went shopping yesterday and came home with mostly long-sleeve dresses and skirts—I’m deliberately ignoring that snow is coming. Snow in downtown Denver feels unnecessary; the mountains are nearby and already handle the white stuff. Colorado, get it together.

I’m also thrilled that most of these photos aren’t selfies. Taking mirror selfies is exhausting—your hand shakes, the angle is wrong, and it’s hard to get a decent shot. When my boyfriend is around I make him take 20 pictures until one looks right. Poor guy, but the result is worth it.

This was a date night outfit—by date night I mean my boyfriend and I went out with my parents. We kept it low-key: dinner followed by seeing Gone Girl. I’m still on the fence about that movie.

I don’t remember exactly where I wore this next outfit, but I do know I want to live in those pants forever. They’re unbelievably comfortable. Yes, the picture is a little blurry—fashion blogging requires some hustle.

Ladies’ night outfit: dinner with my bestie meant another slightly short dress. Someone on Instagram commented that I’d forgotten my pants; I deleted that unhelpful remark. Life’s too short for negativity.

This outfit was for brunch with two guy friends. I couldn’t decide between two looks and asked Instagram for help; the responses were split, which didn’t help. In the end I wore one and I won’t tell you which—mystery preserved.

If you’ve read previous posts you know I love bargain hunting. Tell me a pair of boots is $160 and I’ll find them for half the price. With sales and deal sites, there are always bargains to be found. That’s why I shop The Clymb frequently for workout clothes, shoes, and gear. I’ve bought workout shoes, extra shoes, a suitcase, bike and camping gear, and more. Recently I picked up a pair of New Balance 10V2 Minimus Glow in the Dark running shoes—originally $110, I got them for $75.

Last year I scored Sorel Tivoli boots at a discount on The Clymb and loved them, so I was excited to find another Sorel sale this year. I bought the Sorel Winter Fancy Insulated Boots for $80 (originally $160). They’re warm and perfect for Colorado winters. If you love a good deal, keep an eye on sale sites—you can find quality items for much less.
