Puppies Have Feelings Too: Understanding Your New Dog's Needs

I grew up attending Catholic schools for most of my life, including much of college, so many of my friends are devoutly Catholic. That often means early marriages and honeymoon babies, and several of my friends are already expecting their second or third child.

My Facebook feed is completely plastered with baby photos that make me say “awww” for a second before I return to loving my dogs. Really, puppies are family too—especially when they’re 85 pounds of fluff each.

To prove that pets are people too, I’m teaming up with Jade & Oak and Karly Kim today.

My dogs were found at the side of the road and brought to us to foster for a week while the rescue organization looked for homes. They were about three months old and seemed to be siblings. This is the photo from the first day I had them:

We fell in love with these two fluff balls and planned to keep one. When we couldn’t choose, we kept both—and it turned out to be the best decision ever.

They’ve always been amazing cuddlers.
