When the weather warms up, frozen desserts are my go-to. With a reliable ice cream maker and a good blender I’ve been making lots of homemade ice cream, milkshakes, and sorbets. This easy orange sorbet uses just a few pantry ingredients and produces bright, citrusy results—perfect for summer.

The recipe is very simple: water, sugar, and fresh orange juice. Start by making a simple syrup—heat water and sugar until the sugar dissolves, then cool completely. Stir the cooled syrup into the orange juice, chill the mixture, and process it in your ice cream machine according to the manufacturer’s directions.
When it finishes, the sorbet will have a soft-serve texture. For easier scooping and a firmer texture, transfer the sorbet to a container and freeze it for about two hours before serving. Garnish with an orange slice and a sprig of mint for a pretty presentation.

This sorbet is bright, sweet, and incredibly satisfying on a hot day. It also freezes well, so you can prepare it ahead and keep a container in the freezer for quick desserts.
